Other specific applications of Nexans cables and services

As part of international projects, we deliver innovative cable and interconnection solutions for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), as well as for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) players. We meet their needs in terms of energy, data transmission and automation.

We help the world’s leading builders address the challenge of decarbonization by supplying cables in fields as varied as industrial automation, renewable energies, subsea communication networks, resources and transport. And more specifically:

  • Industry: automation cables and micro-cables for medical equipment and medical imaging.
  • Renewable energies: cables, accessories, kits for wind turbines, for onshore and offshore wind farms, and cables for solar panels in solar parks and farms.
  • Vehicle wiring harnesses: wiring harnesses and wiring systems for vehicles, as well as safety components for the hybrid, combustion and electric vehicles built by global carmakers.
  • Resources: special cables for the energy transformation and nuclear industries.
  • Transport: cables for key players in the aerospace, shipbuilding, rail and rolling stock industries.
  • Telecommunications: fiber optic cables.

Growth in these segments is driven by megatrends, and in particular by:

  • A 40% increase in electricity requirements between now and 2040, relying primarily on renewable sources.
  • A global revolution in mobility, with a growing proportion of hybrid and electric vehicles and expanding rail networks.
  • Smart infrastructures.

The cable market was estimated at €28 billion in 2019, and is expected to grow by 3.6% a year between 2019 and 2030.
