Nexans Climate Day 2024
Our fourth Climate Day will bring together energy stakeholders to raise awareness of climate issues, share experiences and design concrete solutions for sustainable electrification.
To meet the challenges of tomorrow’s world, companies have a social and environmental responsibility to increase their resilience and reduce consumption.
Engagement, the environment and economic performance are the three pillars of our E3 performance management model, and together they shape our purpose. They guide our individual and collective actions.
We have developed a sustainability strategy focused on three priority areas – the environment, people & culture, and business ethics in our ecosystem.
As a pure player, we specialize in electrification. As a player committed to sustainability, we are pioneering the energy transition. And by putting the environment and people at the center of everything we do, we are paving the way for others.
Working with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), we have pledged to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, to reduce our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 46% by 2030, and to reduce our Scope 3 emissions by 30% by 2030.
We invest in sustainable electrification that includes fair access to renewable energies, through Fondation Nexans and philanthropic initiatives.
We empower people, for example by promoting the professional development of our teams. Our Learning Center of Expertise offers both internal and external programs to support employees’ careers. Through an annual survey, we keep a pulse on their needs in terms of information, training, workplace safety, and more.
We encourage our suppliers to endorse and support the principles of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) as part of our commitment to fostering responsible and transparent mineral production. Additionally, we proudly participate as a partner in the Copper Mark initiative.
We have set up a dedicated governance structure to measure the impact of our actions.

We are developing the electrification market while taking climate-related issues into account.
Ours is a circular economy approach. We choose low-carbon production methods and reuse end-of-life materials, in particular by recovering cables to recycle copper and aluminum.
We measure the environmental impact of our actions so we can drive continuous improvement.
Our fourth Climate Day will bring together energy stakeholders to raise awareness of climate issues, share experiences and design concrete solutions for sustainable electrification.
To guide the Group toward achieving our sustainability goals, we have set up a dedicated CSR governance structure, powered by the Sustainable Development Department.
As of 2013, Nexans became the first cable manufacturer to create a corporate Foundation dedicated to serving the public interest. The creation of Fondation Nexans was seen as a natural deepening of the Group’s commitment, giving a formal structure to its international initiatives to develop electrification for underserved communities and engaging them in a shared vision.
