Turning yesterday’s cables into tomorrow’s resources

With global demand for copper doubling over the past 25 years (source: Investment Bank Consulting Firm, Nexans Research 2023) and electrification accelerating worldwide, recycling has become a strategic economic, industrial and environmental priority.

By recovering and recycling end-of-life electrical cables, Nexans protects natural resources and strengthens circularity across the electrical industry.

A tailor-made cable recycling service at the heart of the circular economy

With over 60 years of experience in cable recycling, Nexans supports sustainable electrification through CableLoop — an innovative service designed to collect and recycle copper and aluminum cables.

Collected cable are transformed into reusable raw materials, fueling the next generation of recycled and low-carbon cables.

    Acting together for sustainable electrification

By 2025, nearly 800 tonnes of cables will be collected and recycled through CableLoop.

Ultimately, these recycled metals will return to Nexans’ production lines, enabling a new generation of recycled, low-carbon electrical cables and contributing to a more resilient and circular energy model.

Nexans’ ambition is to integrate at least 25% recycled copper in the production of new cables by 2028.
