On September 11th, 2024, Nexans hosted its 4th annual Suppliers Day, a virtual gathering of over 300 strategic Suppliers. The event focused on reinforcing the collaborative bond between Nexans and its key partners, driving forward a shared mission to electrify the future in a sustainable manner.
E3: A win-win model and the cornerstone of collaboration
Nexans’ unique E3 performance model took center stage again this year. Through its selectivity along the Supply Chain, Nexans partners with the best Suppliers, maximizing its E3 model’s potential.
The strategy and all decision-making structures of my Business Unit are based on E3. It’s a model that enables our business to be both financially and environmentally future proof, and that is based on internal value generation.

Driving innovation and impact
The agenda crackled with discussions on key priorities for the future of electrification. Competitiveness, reliability, and quality were underscored as the backbone of the cooperation with Suppliers, and the acceleration of innovative and sustainable solutions —backed by data— and long-term partnerships as a strength for Nexans in order to deliver superior value service to its Platinum Customers.
Nexans’ leaders reflected on the impressive progress made in recent years. To date, two third of Nexans’ spend with key Suppliers is backed-up by long-term agreements. Besides, more than 50 cooperation projects have already been implemented, with over 100 more in the pipeline. Additionally, 70% of key Suppliers have shown a strong appetite to propose new solutions to Nexans first, further driving innovation and sustainability across the supply chain.
Selectivity among our supplier portfolio has clear objectives: deliver a higher value, better value, better services to our platinum customers.
Chief Operating Officer, Nexans
Supplier collaboration: Building a resilient future
Collaboration with suppliers is essential to comply with regulations, to meet client expectations, but also to build a sustainable future.
One particularly remarkable outcome has been the instrumental role Suppliers have played in helping Nexans achieve a significant reduction in its carbon footprint. Suppliers have contributed to two-thirds of Nexans’ cradle-to-shelf carbon emissions reduction across Scope 1, 2, and 3—a testament to the power of collaboration in pursuing sustainability goals.
Nexans business leaders like Anthony Ryan, VP Industrial Generation & Transmission, Elyette Roux, VP Distribution & Usage PCA, and Jerome Leroy, VP Distribution & Usage North America, took the stage to share their insights and expectations. They all stressed the importance of strong supplier partnerships in driving competitiveness and innovation. Elyette Roux emphasized the need for eco-designed products, while Attila Kurtis completed with the vital role of supplier resilience in maintaining operational excellence, especially during periods of global uncertainty.
Like Camilo Elton, Nexans Chile’s Country Manager summarized it, by having a strong and long-term relationship with Suppliers, Nexans builds a systemic approach that promotes value creation.
In recognition of the pivotal contributions made by Suppliers, Nexans also announced awards across five categories: CSR and Environment, Reliability and Business Continuity, Sustainable Total Cost Competitiveness, Innovation and Differentiation, and the prestigious E3 Partner of the Year.
Looking forward: Building on a strong foundation
As Nexans continues to push the boundaries of electrification, its close-knit supplier ecosystem remains at the heart of its strategy. By partnering with Suppliers who share their commitment on all three pillars (economic, environmental, and engagement), Nexans is creating a future where innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness go hand-in-hand. With a shared vision and a focus on E3 principles, Nexans and their Suppliers are poised to electrify the world.
We promote E3 Suppliers while questioning business allocations and preferred status of Suppliers that have no plan to reach the E3 status.
