Nexans has officially handed over both 225 kV HVAC export cable circuits of the Dieppe–Le Tréport offshore wind farm to its client RTE (Réseau de Transport d’Électricité). This milestone marks the formal completion of Nexans’ delivery scope after four years of project execution and the start of the warranty and long-term maintenance and warranty phase.
The handover confirms that the full export cable system has been delivered, tested and accepted, establishing the final link between the offshore wind farm and the French transmission grid.
A four-year project reaches completion
Awarded in March 2022, the contract covered the full turnkey delivery of the export cable system for one of France’s largest offshore wind projects. Nexans has been responsible for the design, engineering, manufacturing, installation and protection of the two export cables, as well as the long-term IMR (inspection, maintenance and repair) services.
Over the past four years, the project has progressed from system design and manufacturing to offshore and onshore installation campaigns, followed by final pull-in, connection and commissioning. With both circuits now formally handed over, the project enters its next phase focused on long-term reliability and performance.
This handover marks a key milestone for the Dieppe–Le Tréport project and for France’s offshore wind programme. It demonstrates Nexans’ ability to deliver complex turnkey systems and to support critical grid infrastructure over the long term, strengthening energy security and decarbonisation.

From execution to long-term responsibility
With the export cable system now operationally delivered, Nexans’ IMR organization will take over responsibility for the coming years. This includes repair preparedness to support continuous and secure power transmission to the French grid.
This transition reflects Nexans’ end-to-end role on large offshore wind projects – from initial engineering through execution and into full asset lifecycle support.
Supporting France’s offshore wind ambitions
The Dieppe–Le Tréport offshore wind farm, located in the English Channel, will generate up to 496 MW of renewable electricity – enough to supply approximately 850,000 people. The project is an important component of France’s offshore wind programme and contributes to strengthening long-term energy security and decarbonization.
The successful completion and handover of the export cable system represents a collective achievement across Nexans’ engineering, manufacturing, installation and services teams, working in close cooperation with RTE and project partners.
