Nexans is Gold Sponsor in this year's edition
On Wednesday 10 April, (12:15 - 1:45 pm) Nexans will host a Lunch & Learn session on the connection of large US offshore wind farms to shore.
As a world leader in the supply and installation of High Voltage submarine cable systems, Nexans has been involved in many offshore wind farm projects in Europe. Nexans is prepared to contribute to the development of the American supply chain, by upgrading the Goose Creek (SC) factory to manufacture HV submarine cables.
Nexans will present the main features of HV submarine transmission lines, the boundaries between the possible configurations and technologies, how it applies to the offshore wind farm industry, and a case study for the connection of an offshore wind farm to shore on the US East Coast.
Nexans will participate in a working session on 'Grid Access Harmonization with the Supply Chain'.
Emmanuel Martin-Lauzer, Director of Business Development - Nexans High Voltage USA, will join Siemens for a discussion on how Europe has met the challenge of integrating large-scale offshore wind power onto the grid and the lessons-learned for the supply chain.
