Solar installation project with “Ouverture au Tiers Monde” of a center for children in Madagascar
The NGO Ouverture au Tiers Monde works mainly in Madagascar, where it operates two centers for children, mostly orphans. The center of the isolated Ambatofotsy village has a school, where 536 children study from kindergarten to graduation, and a dispensary.
The project supported by the Nexans Foundation involves two components: the electrification of the school and dispensary through a mini-solar power plant, and the establishment of trainings, in partnership with “Energie Sans Frontières”. These trainings aim at firstly to offer some people the opportunity to train for a job that has a promised development in Madagascar and second, to ensure that the equipment installed will be maintained.
