Nexans’ cables to enhance fire safety for world’s largest cruise ship
STX France and subcontractors have ordered over 5000 km of Nexans’ Shiplink® fire resistant cables for the third Oasis class ship
Paris, December 17, 2014 – STX France has chosen Nexans to supply cables and services to be used in the building of its new ship, Oasis 3. Nexans will deliver 5000 km of cables for the largest cruise ship in the world with a capacity of 2744 passenger cabins and 1197 crew cabins. The ship is being built for Royal Caribbean International in STX France’s shipyard at St. Nazaire.
Nexans will supply the full range of Shiplink® halogen-free products including power, control, instrumentation and Ethernet cables. STX France also chose Nexans for its ability to provide the shipyard with customized supply chain services. In particular, Nexans employed just-in-time manufacturing process based on day-to-day forecast and in-deep tracking.
