Paris, May 25, 2007 – As a result of the local mismanagement of the reorganization project of Nexans' harnesses activity in Belgium, the Group has decided to renew immediately dialogue with the unions and has instructed the management of Nexans Benelux to ensure the correct management of this project.
An agreement was found this morning between William English, Country Manager Benelux, and the main unions, to ensure that the employees of Nexans Harnesses, on the Huizingen site, can continue working under normal conditions, and to engage as soon as possible a dialogue with the unions in accordance with the Belgian law within the framework of the reorganization plan.
An extraordinary Workers Council meetign will be held in early June.
