Paris, July 31st, 2008 – Nexans, the worldwide leader in the cable industry, has appointed Konstantinos Voyiatzis as Corporate Vice President Information Systems, from August 1, 2008. He replaces Yves Trézières who becomes Vice President Finance Europe Area of Nexans.
Konstantinos Voyiatzis started his career in 1982 at the National Institute for Information Technology Research (INRIA) as researcher in IT for artificial intelligence. Then, during more than 10 years, he held successively managing positions within SESA France, Citroën Automotive France and Sligos Group, before joining Essilor in 1995.
First, as Director of Information Systems (IS) for the Operations Department within Essilor International, he implemented, among other activities, ERP systems for the worldwide logistics and manufacturing business units, and production plants in Europe, Asia and America. In 2000, appointed Senior Vice President Information Systems at Essilor America and CEO of a subsidiary dedicated to services for Essilor Laboratories, he contributed through a new IS strategy to the success of the Essilor Group on the optics market in the United States.
Konstantinos Voyiatzis is graduated from the University of Thessaloniki (Greece) and from the Univeristy of Toulouse (France). He has also an Engineering diploma with a specialization in computer science from Supelec (France) and a Ph. D. in Artificial Intelligence and Production management from the INRIA and the University of Paris IX (France).
