Nexans cables power the new BioWanze bioethanol plant in Belgium

BioWanze plant

After connecting the UK’s largest biomass power plant in Scotland in 2007, Nexans is now supplying 250 kilometers of low-voltage power cables for the BioWanze project — a new plant producing bioethanol from sugar beet in Wanze, Belgium.

This new plant from the Südzucker Group, Europe’s leading sugar producer, will produce half of the annual bioethanol volume for the Belgian market, or 125,000 cubic meters per annum during the next six years.
