The development of GG45 started back in 1998/9 in Nexans labs in Buizingen (Belgium), with commercial introduction in 2002. After a slow start, Nexans had to double production capacity in 2006 to meet increasing demand. Nexans managed to make the connector the ISO standard as the Cat7 interface for the whole industry (PUSH), while demand was created through an intensive promotion campaign (PULL), seminars, press articles, OEM contacts.
