Paris, April 23, 2007 – With Intelligent Infrastructure Management (IIM) being deployed in data centre environments where power and cooling are becoming increasingly critical, Nexans, the worldwide leader in the cable industry and expert in IIM solutions, is pleased to announce the launch of the Mk II analyser range. This new analyser represents a significant evolution in the LANsense analyser family and the development has a number of facets. The most significant improvements have been made to the environmental aspects of the analyser where a complete redesign of the I/O subsystem has lead to a 72% reduction in power consumption and a 73% reduction in heat output. The redesign also achieved the goal of 100% RoHS compliance.
Rob Cardigan, Senior Product Manager LANsense within Nexans, commented, “The analyser backplane has also been redesigned allowing the use of standard pitch connecting hardware which in turn simplifies the design and logistics of the I/O cables giving anticipated reductions in lead time of these items and increased flexibility in system design.”
The new analyser also has an increased onboard memory allocation which improves functionality and is an industry first with a newly designed LCD which facilitates the display of graphic based languages – essential for the deployment of IIM in many emerging regions. Technician feedback has also been enhanced through the use of additional diagnostics tests and a redesigned analyser status panel.
