 Paris, October 21, 2003 � Nexans has developed NVT � Nexans Visio Template � to provide the ideal cabling system drawing tool for use with its LANmark copper and fiber cabling systems. NVT, which is compatible with the Microsoft Visio drawing package, enables system designers to create rack layout drawings and cabling schematics, and to automatically generate a Bill of Materials (BoM) from the design.
NVT is intended primarily as a support tool to help installers and integrators present their solution to the end user. It can also be used by end users as part of their infrastructure documentation.
NVT is downloadable free of charge from www.nexans.co.uk/e-service which also provides free links to Visio viewers and Visio to Powerpoint converters.

Products are easy to drag and drop from a simple list of �Master Shapes�
Intelligent Master Shapes
Unlike many competitor solutions, the Nexans system features a library of �intelligent� shapes covering the LANmark product range. By right clicking a �master� shape it is possible to select the specific version and the part number and description will be updated automatically.
Automatic �filling� of empty equipment
Items such as empty patchpanels can be part or fully populated with connectors in one operation.
Bill of Materials Generation
When the drawing is complete the tool will export the BoM into Excel.
