June 20, 2005 - Nexans will create a new business unit under the management of Nexans Cabling Solutions called Nexans Intelligent Enterprise Solutions (IES), which will specialize in the development of products & services under the LANSense brand.
LANSense products will be positioned as leading edge solutions in the fast growing Intelligent Infrastructure Management market and will benefit from a strong partner relationship with the market leading iTracs corporation.
In addition to the LANSense products, Nexans IES will also supply a range of products whose Intellectual Property rights have been acquired from ITT Network Systems & Services (NS&S) including LANConnect UTP, ISCS FTP, and GIGAPath fibre products. Nexans IES will supply these alongside the existing Nexans LANmark and essential range of solutions and services.
The new unit, based in Basingstoke UK, will be operational from July 4, 2005.

The new business will be managed by Tony Rossiter, formerly from ITT NS&S who said "The new unit will not only increase Nexans presence and capabilities in the UK market but will enable us to bring the market leading LANSense products to a global customer base via Nexans wide geographic presence and Key Account Management team."
