Paris, January 30, 2002 - Nexans, the worldwide leader in the cable industry, has just won a 24 million euros contract in Kuwait for the supply and installation of several underground 132-kV LPOF high-voltage cable links in Kuwait City between the high-voltage substations of Mina Abdulla, Sabhan, Fantas, Ardilya, Fadous, Riqqee, Yarmouk, Al Rai, Omeriah, Almahdi and Hadiya. This contract was awarded by the MEW (Ministry of Electricity and Water) further to an international request for proposals.
The installation work must be completed within 22 months, and will deploy the Nexans Group's specialist High-Voltage resources based in Kuwait, Norway, France and Switzerland.
